BIO: Chris Cuzme

Chris Cuzme is a professional musician, avid homebrewer, and devoted student of all things beer. Co-organizer of NY Craft Beer Week, 2010 President of the Malted Barley Appreciation Society, he is also the Current President of the New York City Homebrewers Guild, with which over the years he has helped to organize and present several nationally-recognized beer education programs (www.bjcp.org) for New Yorkers to become knowledgeable and perceptive beer critics. Cuzme left his daygig as a research compliance associate in financial services in 2006 to pursue his dual vocations of great music and fine beer.

In an effort to educate people about craft beer, he first began to host beer and food pairings in January of 2007 at his local favorite, Jimmy’s No. 43. The popularity of these events led to a proud partnership with Mary Izett and ultimately formed The New York City Degustation Advisory Team.

He has repeatedly served selections of his homebrew and organized the live music
line-up at a variety of NY Beer Festivals Small and Large.  He is a co-founder of Get Real NY, devoted to bringing New Yorkers the highest quality beer festival experiences from all aspects including variety, fun, and education. In addition, partnered with Chris Post and Alex Hall, he is involved in the makings of Wandering Star Craft Brewery, launched early summer of 2010.
