The NYC Degustation Advisory Team began in early 2007 as Mary had developed a food and beer meetup group at roughly the same time as Chris began hosting chocolate and beer pairing parties at Jimmy’s No. 43. Having developed a grand friendship based on like minded interests and through the NYC Homebrewers Guild, we decided to team up and share our fun with others by forming the NYC Degustation Advisory Team. Our primary goal is to display the wonders of craft beer to those who would not otherwise think beer can bring such bliss; while our pairing events are enjoyable to current craft beer drinkers, our target audiences have been wine enthusiasts and “foodies” in hopes of displaying the diversity of craftmanship and vast array of complimentary flavors within the craft beer world.
We are continuously experimenting with craft beer and food combinations in order to provide people with the most delightful of mouth parties, striving not to repeat ourselves in our regular events. Although we will echo the use of certain beers, food items, or purveyors…because some things are just simply awesome.
